Welcome to the mountains!

Skiing, cross-country, and winter adventures in the heart of the realm of Peer Gynt

Welcome to winter at Gålå

At Gålå, the ski slopes, cross-country trails, Lake Gålåvatnet, and the cabins are all close together. Here, you can fill your winter days with downhill and cross-country skiing, tobogganing in GålåGynten, or a warm session in the Peer Sauna—and stay a little longer with overnight accommodations right on the mountain.

For us at Gålå Alpin, nature and skiing experiences are at the heart of everything we do, with skiing, joy, and great memories as our most important values. It is important to us that all our guests feel cared for and safe. Our goal is to create a ski arena where the whole family can share wonderful days together.

Tobogganing

When the ski day draws to a close, GålåGynten can be used for something completely different. On selected days throughout the winter, you can book tobogganing including the lift, toboggan, helmet, and headlamp.

The Peer Sauna mountain spa

Warm up in the Peer Sauna by Lake Gålåvatnet, and feel free to combine the sauna with a refreshing encounter with the winter outdoors.

Food and relaxation

After a few hours outside, food tastes even better. At Sans for Gålå, you’ll find homemade dishes, home-baked goods, great coffee, and real hot cocoa – and the Peer Sauna is ready for those who want a warm break after a day outdoors.

Tobogganing in GålåGynten

Hop on the toboggan, take the lift up, and get ready for the ride down GålåGynten. Throughout the winter, we arrange tobogganing on selected Tuesdays and Saturdays, with extra dates during holidays.

The toboggan, helmet, and necessary equipment are included. Groups can also book their own private sessions throughout the winter season.

Experiences

Join someone who knows Gålå

Some trips are better when you’re with someone who knows the mountains. Our local guides will take you out and tailor the trip based on your experience, the conditions, and what you want to see.

Throughout the winter, we offer selected guided tours and can also put together custom packages for families, groups of friends, and organizations.

Gålå is located right between Oslo and Trondheim, on a mountain plateau 1,000 meters above sea level. A small village and mountain farm community in Gudbrandsdalen. A real gem of a place; also known as Gålå in Peer Gynt’s Realm.
