Mountain air, wide views and active days for the whole family

Mountain Summer at Gålå

For more than 130 years, people have traveled to Gålå to find peace, recharge, and enjoy days in the mountains. The fresh mountain air, open views, and proximity to nature make Gålå a place where it is easy to feel at home.

In the summer, you can fill your day with everything from climbing, paddling, and cycling to great meals, saunas, and quiet mountain hikes. Here, the distance between experiences is short – and there is plenty of space to enjoy them.

At Gålå, it’s easy to get outdoors. You can climb in the treetops, go for a bike ride, take a canoe out on Lake Gålåvatnet, or set off on foot. And some days, it might be enough to go for a swim, play a round of disc golf, and have a coffee afterward.

Here you will find the activities and equipment you need to spend your summer day at Gålå.

Gålå’s highest experience

In the climbing park, both children and adults can test themselves among the treetops. The courses have different heights and difficulty levels, so some start cautiously while others go straight for the bigger challenges.

You don’t need to have climbed before. We help you with the equipment and go through everything you need to know before you start. Set aside a few hours – it’s easy to find yourself wanting to do just one more course.

Happening at Gålå

Throughout the summer, Gålå is filled with festivals, concerts, and events. The mountain festival Rondaståk and the Peer Gynt Cultural Festival are among the summer highlights, providing a special backdrop for days in the mountains.

Rondaståk Mountain Festival

When the summer is at its most beautiful, Gålå is filled with music, people, and a great festival atmosphere.

Rondaståk has established itself as one of Norway’s most popular mountain festivals, known for powerful artist performances, proximity to nature, and a very special atmosphere. Here, audiences of all ages meet for concerts, great food experiences, and long summer evenings with the mountains as a backdrop.

Whether you come for one concert or the entire festival weekend, Rondaståk is an experience that leaves an impression.

Peer Gynt Cultural Festival

Every summer, one of Norway’s most unique cultural experiences takes place at Gålå.

With the mountains and Lake Gålåvatnet as a backdrop, the Peer Gynt Cultural Festival invites you to theater, concerts, art, and culture over several days. The main performance of Peer Gynt at Lake Gålåvatnet is the heart of the festival, but the experiences extend far beyond the stage, with concerts, exhibitions, lectures, and local food experiences in several places in the region.

Peer Gynt is a festival that combines powerful cultural experiences with the unique tranquility and nature of Gudbrandsdalen.

Food and relaxation

After a few hours outside, food tastes even better. At Sans for Gålå, you’ll find homemade dishes, home-baked goods, great coffee, and real hot cocoa – and the Peer Sauna is ready for those who want a warm break after a day outdoors.
